Along with co-founders Simon Schterenberg, Elaine Shengya Hu, Andy Chen, Georgia Yeh, Joseph Vu and Jakob Beetem, 68 Degrees Films and Onyx Cinema Productions pulled off a steadicam “one-er” shot on Oct 11th, 2011.  The shot was 3-4 minutes long and went all around a restaurants, following multiple characters.

Steadicam operator Michael Shu also wrote and directed this short. Starring Rhiann Woodyard, Alvin Lam, Kazumi Zatkin and Eric Guiterrez.  Set photography by Georgia Yeh.

The Every 15 Minutes program is held by high schools with the support of the cities to teach high schoolers the costs of drinking and driving.

With the help of real high schoolers and actual CHP, Fire fighters and County Sheriffs, Onyx Cinema created a story of how a simple mistake can cost the lives of others.

I smile every time I see this photo.  Especially Anthony’s hardcore concentrating stare instead of his usually endless smiling.

I was introduced to Anthony by Kendall Wells because of my being an instructor of Japanese swordsmanship at the International Shinkendo Federation, which both Anthony and DeLongis trained in.  I drove to their incredible ranch, surrounded by nature, and was briefed with what they had in mind.

The sky was the limit with the huge amount of land that was available to us.  We had horses, guns, costumes and all sorts of great stuff to create an old western, pre-cowboy era piece.  Most people would call this “cowboys with swords”.

The budget only allowed for DSLR shooting with a bare bones kit.  I was pretty much a one-man camera crew.  Everybody I worked with on the shoot was awesome!  I got out of my city-boy comfort zone and got a taste of cowboy for a couple of days.

The first are the CGI animated, motion graphics web commercials that walk customers through the app’s fun applications.  With the apps, you take a photo of your friend or yourself and get a fun result.  The results use an engine built from the research of human facial features.

Find out how masculine or feminine you look.  Are you hot or not?  How old do you really look?  The results can really surprise you.

Every Monday through Friday morning for the past 4 years, I have gotten an email from my friend, Pascal. In fact, I have an entire folder dedicated to Pascal Campion with over 1,000 e-mails. And in each email is an attached image. It’s his “Sketch of the Day (SOTD).” Every SOTD is a story that Pascal tells with his amazing talent.

Pascal has thousands of fans following his SOTD, but if you ask him, he’ll tell you that they are not fans, they are all his friends. That is just the type of person he is.

This video is a glimpse into his process and his insight. Watch as he translates emotion into art.
